What I did during my Christmas break...

...lots of cooking and hanging out with family & friends until 12/26. Then, went to Albany with Gillian for a visit until 2010! During my visit with much time off I was able to do a ton of crocheting and felting which has proved intself extremely time consuming and as such will present a major problem when I need to price these. I will be selling these back in Rochester at my friend Collette's store, Soulstice Artisan Market on Winton Road near Browncroft Boulevard (yes, that was a plug for her shop in case you were wondering).

Drumroll please... et voila!!!

During the next few weeks this month I will also be feeling anxiety around my urgent need to start work for the Direct Art Magazine submission deadlines coming up this spring. Also, I am grateful for the recommendation of Fructose Magazine by my friend John Perry. The possibilites and inspiration seem boundless. These magazines are a great resource and possible publication opportunity for emerging artists who may not have a consistent exhibit venue eleswhere. I surely appreciate that they are definitely not your average high brow art mags.

High Fructose Magazine

I will be doing some figurative reference work at The Art Stop in Rochester during the open figure drawing studio sessions they offer on Thursday evenings. I have some ideas to combine the figure work I do there with the drawings I've done in the past month of Falconry hoods for The Human Landscape themed entries for Direct Art Magazine due March 1st. For the general submissions in any media due March 31st, I want to work in clay and mixed media using the figure/Falcon hood theme unless my mind leads me elsewhere in the meantime...

Cheers and my best wishes to you all in 2010!!
